I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets.
There were lights everywhere, giant balls hanging from the ceiling, music and lots of colors. We had been on our seats for about 2 minutes and my 18 month old had already said “woooooooow” about 20 times.
When I found out Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Out of this World was coming to the Washington D.C. for their final farewell show I knew we had to go. My 4 year old and 1 year old had never experienced the circus and this would be the last time they would be able to see it.
I showed my oldest some videos of the show and every morning she woke up asking me if we were going to the circus. The day finally came and I didn’t know what to expect but I was completely blown away by this show and so were my kids.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Out of this World Review
The show started with a space scene that was “Out of this World”. The whole setting looked like it was in outer space. The best part was seeing the performers. They were walking on a giant oblong shaped wheel that was rotating while the performers walked on it, not even once did it look like they were going to fall. It was really impressive!
Then we saw several performer “flying” in the air and doing space walk. They were moving is slow motion and it looked so real. My oldest daughter kept asking me how they were flying and my 18 month old kept repeating “wow” over and over again. The music and lighting were spot on too!
This was the perfect intro for The Greatest Show on Earth I’ve seen.
Out of this World is themed around an evil ice queen Tatiana who has stolen several circus acts and hidden them in different parts of the galaxy. Throughout the show we get to join this adventure as well travel through the different places in a quest to bring them all the circus acts back home.
The show was just as amazing, with clowns, all sorts of performers – from people in trapezes to people standing on a horse while the horse ran in circles, motorcycles driving at high speeds inside a giant circle, amazing live music and a perfect light show.
I was really impressed to see that most of the action happened on ice. Yes, every single person was ice skating – which in my eyes makes it even more impressing.
The show lasted about 3 hours and there was a break right in the middle. Both of my kids enjoyed the entire show and were actually sad when we had to go. The saddest part is that my oldest is now asking me when we’re going to the circus again and unfortunately we won’t be able to since this is their Final Farewell tour. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® shows will surely be missed.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words…
…and this is no exception. There are no words I can use to explain what a wonderful show this was but I want to share with you some of our favorite moments. Here are some of our highlights in pictures and don’t miss out on the video recap at the end of this post.
We got there early and it was worth it! The performers are walking around and you can take pictures with them. Plus your kids can even get their faces painted!
This is the opening of the show. Look at the performers balancing in the middle, as well as others inside the balls hanging from the ceiling. Amazing!
After the outer space intro, most of the performers come out while a very cheerful song played in the background. This got my kids very excited!
We even got to see lions and tigers!
This was really impressive – my jaw dropped! The motorcycles were riding in circles inside that sphere – they were going so fast I couldn’t believe they never ran into each other.
The trapeze has always been my favorite – and it still is!
Towards the end we got to see most of the animals. The dogs were so funny and adorable! Plus we got see a kangaroo in person for the first time in our lives.
Then the performers riding on the horses and doing all sorts of amazing things.
At the end everyone came out to say bye to the audience – what a bittersweet moment. We will miss this show!
